The Daily Mail have launched a campaign highlighting the problem of private equity firms buying up care homes.
When Southern Cross collapsed in 2011 there were thousands of residents living in their care homes facing distress and anxiety. They were left in the dark about whether they would be able to remain in their home. We cannot let this happen again.
The consequences of getting this wrong are appalling. It affects on frail care home residents, their families, and the taxpayer. The Government should leave no stone unturned in making sure we have a care system fit for the future.
