Today I met with Leicester West councillors and local food banks to discuss poverty across the constituency. We discussed the changes in poverty levels throughout lockdown, and what we can do to tackle this problem locally. The weekly testing of care workers is essential. We have seen more than 15,000 deaths from Covid-19 in care homes, and the winter and flu season is fast approaching. The Government has already abandoned one testing deadline – they must not fail again.
